Washing powder and liquid in Iḥrām
Question
If someone uses washing powder or washing liquid whilst in Iḥrām for example to wash dishes or clothes, what does it necessitate?

Answer
If the washing powder or washing liquid has a fragrance and reaches the hand or any part of the body or the clothes whilst in the state of Iḥrām, Ṣadaqah (the amount of Ṣadaqat al-Fiṭr) is necessary.
جاء في المنتقى: هشام عن محمد رحمه الله: إذا غسل المحرم يده بأشنان فيه طيب، فإن كان إذا نظروا إليه قالوا: هذا أشنان ففيه الصدقة، وإن قالوا: هو طيب فعليه الدم، كذا في المحيط البرهاني (٢/٤٥٥) وشرح اللباب (ص ٤٥٠) وعنه في رد المحتار (٢/٥٤٧)، والمسألة مذكورة هكذا في فتاوى قاضي خان (١/٢٥٦) وعنه في فتح القدير (٣/٢٨) وشرح اللباب (ص ٤٥٨) والفتاوى الهندية (١/٢٤١)۔
وقال السرخسي في المبسوط (٤/١٢٤) ضمن مسألة الخطمي: الخطمي ليس بطيب بل هو كالأشنان يغسل به رأسه، انتهى۔
