Changing Qirān to Tamattuʿ
Question
I made intention of Qirān Ḥajj and have performed my ʿUmrah. I do not want to stay in Iḥrām and want to change to Tamattuʿ. Can I change my intention and cut my hair?

Answer
You cannot change your intention and will have to remain in the state of Iḥrām. Once intention is made to perform Qirān Ḥajj, this has to be followed through.
This is different to someone who makes intention for Tamattuʿ, such a person can change their intention to Qirān if they wish to do so before performing ʿUmrah, although it is better not to do so.
قال الكاساني في البدائع (٢/٢١٩): وجوب الإحرام عقد لازم، انتهى. وقال رحمة الله السندي في لباب المناسك (ص ٣٦١): فصل في شرائط صحة القران، الأول أن يحرم بالحج قبل طواف العمرة كله أو أكثره، انتهى۔
