Wife funding her and husband’s Qurbānī
Question
Do you know if a wife can give Qurbānī on her husband’s behalf even if he has the means to give for himself and her?

Answer
It is permissible. It must however be noted that if Qurbānī is necessary on him and she wishes to fulfil his obligation, the obligation will only be fulfilled with his consent and knowledge. In this scenario, he will be the owner of the Qurbānī. If, however, Qurbānī is not necessary on him or she wishes to do a Nafl Qurbānī for his reward, then his consent or knowledge is not necessary. In this scenario, the Qurbānī will be owned by the wife who will make an intention for the reward to go to her husband.
