Inheritance Query
Question
We have received income of £2058.70 from a plot of land which has not yet been distributed among the heirs. When the deceased passed away, he left behind a wife, four sons and a daughter. Please can you outline how this income will be distributed.

Answer
The rental income will be distributed in the following manner:
Wife – 1/8th (12.5%) – £257.3375
Each son – 7/36th (19.4444%) – £400.3028
Daughter – 7/72th (9.7222%) – £200.1514
The amounts can be rounded off and the remaining pence distributed by mutual agreement.
