Inheritance Question

Question

A person has passed away and he has a wife, 1 daughter, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. How will the inheritance be distributed? He also made Waṣiyyah of 1/3^rd for some madāris.

Answer

Following the deduction of one third, the inheritance will be distributed as follows:

Wife – 7/56^th (1/8^th – 12.5%)

Daughter – 28/56^th (1/2 – 50%)

Each Full Brother – 6/56^th (10.72%)

Each Full Sister – 3/56^th (5.36%)
