Do brothers inherit if there are only daughters
Question
(1) My mother has savings from her job and we are three sisters and have no brother. How much share will my mother’s brothers receive?
(2) If my mother’s brothers die before my mother, will their sons inherit from my mother?
بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم
Answer
(1) If a deceased has three daughters and one or more brothers, the brother(s) will receive 1/3rd and the remaining 2/3rd will be distributed among the daughters. Each daughter will therefore receive 2/9th each.
(2) If all the brothers pass away before their sister, and the brothers have sons, the sons will receive the 1/3rd.
