Purchasing airline miles with bonus
Question
Virgin Airlines sell 1000 points for £15. However, sometimes they have an offer that if you purchase 5000 points for £75, they give you 1000 bonus points, making it 6000. This is known when purchasing the points. Is this permissible or will be regarded as interest?

Answer
It is permissible to purchase airline points whether it is with the bonus or without the bonus. This is not interest and there is no ambiguity (jahālah, garar) therein. It is known at the point of purchase how many miles the person will receive.
