Allamah Abdul Hayy Laknawi said in al-Nafi al-Kabir (p.65): The pleasure & joy I find in teaching the manqūl & writing on it, especially ḥadīth & its fiqh, I do not find elsewhere. (وما اجد في تدريس المنقول والتصنيف فيه لا سيما في الحديث وفقه الحديث من لذة وسرور لا اجد في غيره)
Imam Malik said: “I did not issue legal verdicts until seventy [scholars] testified that I am capable of doing so.” Hilyah (6: 316) قال الامام مالك: ما أفتيت حتى شهد لي سبعون أني أهل لذلك، رواه ابو نعيم في الحلية (٦: ٣١٦)
Academic Integrity: Ḥāfiẓ Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr (d. 463/1071) writes: It is said: “Indeed from the blessing of knowledge is that you attribute everything to its source” (Jāmiʿ Bayān al-ʿIlm, 2:922). If you benefit from someone’s work, acknowledge it even if you paraphrase.
“There are many errors & omissions in the prevalent version of Hafiz Sakhawi’s al-Maqasid al-Hasanah. An example is the detailed entry on تحية البيت الطواف which is totally missing. The 5 vol critical edition of Dar al-Maymanah features this as does the Faydullah (547) manuscript.“
“The Hanafi jurist Imam Khassaf (d.261) transmits 500+ Ahadith & Athar in his masterpiece ‘Adab al-Qadhi’ with complete Asanid. Interestingly, many of the narrations are transmitted via Imam Ibn Abi Shaybah, which are also found in ‘al-Musannaf’. The book is also useful because ‘Adab al-Qadhi’ of ‘al-Asl’ remains unpublished & is mafqud. Along with Adab al-Qadhi, the book covers issues of other chapters such as Nikah, Shufah, Shahadat, Hajr, Hadanat, Nafaqah, Wasiyyah, Dawa, Mafqud & others. An invaluable book.”

“Imam Bukhari authored a stand-alone book “al-Adab”, which is commonly now known as “al-Adab al-Mufrad”. Its actual name is just “al-Adab”. The term “al-Mufrad” was probably added to distinguish it from the “Kitab al-Adab” of Sahih al-Bukhari. This is why Hafiz Zaylee refers to it in Nasb al-Rayah in at least 15 places with the following: رواه البخاري في كتابه المفرد في الادب Bukhari transmitted it in his standalone book on Adab.”

وكم من عالم أخطأ في مسألة فلم يهتم إخوانه من العلماء بأن يزوروه ويذاكروه فيها، أو يكاتبوه في شأنها، بل غاية ما يصنع أحدهم أن ينشر اعتراضه في مجلة أو رسالة يُشنِّع على ذلك العالم ويُجَهّله، أو يبدّعه ويكفّره، فتكون النتيجة عكس المطلوب. وكم من مسائل يُفْتَى فيها بمصر بشيء، وبالشام بخلافه، وفي الهند بخلاف ذلك، ولو كانت المواصلات جارية بين العلماء لما وقع هذا الخبط الشديد الذي يوسع خَرْقَ الافتراق ويؤول إلى النزاع والشقاق. وعلماء الدين أحوج الناس إلى التواصل والتعاون خصوصًا في العصر الذي تفشّى فيه وباء الإلحاد، وقلَّت الرغبة في العلوم الدينية، بل كادت تعم النُّفْرة عنها، واستغنى كلّ أحد برأيه، كذا في آثار الشيخ العلامة عبد الرحمن المعلمي اليماني۔

قال الرازي: لقد تأملت الطرق الكلامية والمناهج الفلسفية فما رأيتها تشفي عليلا ولا تروي غليلا ، ورأيت أقرب الطرق طريقة القرآن ، أقرأ في الإثبات: الرحمن على العرش استوى ، إليه يصعد الكلم ، وأقرأ في النفي: ليس كمثله شيء ، ومن جرب مثل تجربتي عرف مثل معرفتي
قال ابن فرحون عن مشارق الأنوار للقاضي عياض: هو كتاب لو كتب بالذهب او وزن بالجوهر لكان قليلا في حقه
قالت زوجة ابن شهاب الزهري: والله لهذه الكتب أشد علي من ثلاث ضرائر، کذا فی وفيات الأعيان، قال الكتاني فی تاریخ المکتبات الاسلامیة: صريح في تكاثر كتبه كثرة أوجبت غيرة زوجته منها
رأى رجل مع احمد محبرة، فقال له: انت قد بلغت هذا المبلغ وانت امام المسلمين، فقال: معي المحبرة الى المقبرة، كذا في مناقب الامام احمد
كان العارف ابوالغيث القشاشي التونسي (ت ١٠٣١) لا يقبل هدية الا اذا اهدي له البخاري،فيقابل مهديه بأنواع الاحسان،وجد في خزانته الف نسخة للبخاري
قال ابن عبد الهادي:وما تحلى طالب العلم بشيء أحسن من الانصاف وترك التعصب، نقله الزيلعي في نصب الراية ١:٣٥٥ وعنه محمد عوامة في أدب الاختلاف ص٩٥
قال الذهبي في السير في ترجمة القاضي أبي بكر بن العربي: ولم أنقم على القاضي رحمه الله إلا إقذاعه في ذم ابن حزم واستجهاله له، وابن حزم أوسع دائرة من أبي بكر في العلوم وأحفظ بكثير، وقد أصاب في أشياء وأجاد، وزلق في مضايق كغيره من الأئمة، والإنصاف عزيز. ومن العجيب ما ذكره الذهبي: وكان أبوه أبو محمد من كبار أصحاب أبي محمد بن حزم الظاهري بخلاف ابنه القاضي أبي بكر، فإنه منافر لابن حزم ، محط عليه بنفس ثائرة، انتهى
قال الشاه عبد العزيز في بستان المحدثين (ص ٦٦): وليس نسبة هذا المسند الى ابي حنيفة الا كنسبة ما في مسند احمد من مسانيد ابي بكر الصديق اليه كأنه مؤلف له وجامع
قال الإمام الغزالي في الإحياء: وينوي في دخول كل بلدة أن يرى شيوخها ويجتهد أن يستفيد من كل واحد منهم أدبا أو كلمة لينتفع بها لا ليحكي ذلك ويظهر أنه لقي المشايخ
حكى مفكر الأمة الشيخ عبد الله الكابودروي عن بعض المعاصرين: ان اللغة والثقافة تمشيان معا
قال الشيخ عبد الفتاح أبو غدة: السلف أعلم بشرع الله ودينه من الخلف، ولكن الكلام في السلف قليل، وفي الخلف كثير
قال العلامة شهاب الدين المرجاني في ناظورة الحق في فرضية العشاء وإن لم يغب الشفق (ص ٣٩٦): مجرد وجدان القول الواحد في كتب متعددة لا يوجب تكثر الرواية
أصحاب الترجيح بالفضل والكمال لا بتقادم الأزمنة والآجال: قال اللكنوي في الفوائد البهية: هم أصحاب الترجيح مثل أبي الحسن القدورى وصاحب الهداية وأمثالهما دون طبقة المجتهدين كالخصاف والطحاوي والكرخي والسرخسي والحلواني وقاضيخان وصاحب الذخيرة وصاحب الخلاصة وظني أن المولى شمس الدين أحمد بن كمال باشا ملحق بهم بل المولى الفاضل أبو السعود العمادي أيضا فإن مراتب الرجال بالفضل والكمال لا بتقادم الأزمنة والآجال، انتهى.
قال ذو النون المصري رحمه الله: ثلاثة موجودة وثلاثة مفقودة: العلم موجود والعمل به مفقود، والعمل موجود والإخلاص فيه مفقود، والحب موجود والصدق فيه مفقود
قال ذو النون المصري رحمه الله: سقم الجسد في الأوجاع، وسقم القلوب في الذنوب، فكما لا يجد الجسد لذة في الطعام عند سقمه، كذلك لا يجد القلب حلاوة العبادة مع ذنبه.
الحافظ ابن حجر استفاد كثيرا في شرح البخاري من التوضيح لشيخه ابن الملقن، كما استفاد كثيرا في التلخيص الحبير من البدر المنير لشيخه المذكور.
قال الشيخ التاج السبكي في ترجمة الامام البخارِي: وأبلغ تضعيفه قوله فى المجروح منكر الحديث. قال ابن القطان قال البخارى: كل من قلت فيه منكر الحديث فلا تحل الرواية عنه
قال الإمام الشافعي: نصنف ويصنفون، وما كان لله يبقى إلى الدهر
قال العلامة محمد سعيد الباني في عمدة التحقيق في التقليد والتلفيق (ص ٦٣): سألت مرة أستاذنا العلامة الشيخ عبد الحكيم الأفغاني (مؤلف كشف الحقائق على كنز الدقائق) حينما كنت أتلقى منه أصول الفقه عن فائدة هذا العلم، فأجابني على البداهة أن فائدته الاجتهاد. فقلت: ألم يقولوا يا سيدي أن باب الاجتهاد مقفل. فقال بحدة على سبيل الاستفهام الإنكاري: من أقفله؟ يصلح الله حالك، لكن طالب العلم في بلادكم يدعي الاجتهاد وهو لما يقرأ بعد نور الإيضاح.
قال أحمد بن سلمة النيسابوري: تزوج إسحاق بن راهويه بامرأة رجل كان عنده كتب الشافعي، مات، لم يتزوج بها إلا للكتب.
قال العلامة الكشميري في فيض الباري: لا يوجد كثير من المسائل في كتب الفقه، وقد تعرض له الحديث، فمن زعم أن الدين كله في الفقه، بحيث لا يبقى وراءه شيء، فقد حاد عن الصواب
يقال إنّ فقيهاً من أهل مكة ؛ سمع رجلين يغتابانه عند نافذة داره ، ففتح النافذة وبال عليهما ، ففوجئا ، وقالا : يا شيخ أنت تفعل هذا؟ فقال لهما : ما أُكِلَ لحمه فبوله طاهر
قال الذهبي في السير: وما زال العلماء قديما وحديثا يرد بعضهم على بعض في البحث، وفي التواليف، وبمثل ذلك يتفقه العالم وتتبرهن له المشكلات، ولكن في زماننا قد يعاقب الفقيه إذا اعتنى بذلك لسوء نيته، ولطلبه للظهور، والتكثر، فيقوم عليه قضاة وأضداد، نسأل الله حسن الخاتمة وإخلاص العمل
قال سلمان بن عبد الحميد الحموي الحنبلي (ت 805) وهو من شيوخ الحافظ ابن حجر ردًا على زوجته وقد أكثرت من لومه على إهلاك ماله في شراء الكتب: وقائلةٍ أنفقتَ في الكُتْبِ ما حَـوَت، يمينُك من مالٍ فقلتُ دعـيني ،،، لعـلِّي أرى فـيها كـتابًا يَـدُلُّنـــــي، لأخْذِ كتــــابي آمِنًـا بيــميني ،،، كذا في السحب الوابلة على ضرائح الحنابلة
شیخ الحدیث حضرت مفتی احمد خانپوری ارشاد فرماتے ہیں: مدرس کی کسی غلطی پر اس کو رسوا کر کے مدرسہ سے علاحدہ کرنا نہایت کمینہ وقابل مذمت حرکت ہے۔محمود الفتاوی ٣: ٢٤٦
قال شيخنا محمد تقي العثماني في كتابه توثيق الديون (ص ٢٩٤): وما دام الامر مجتهدا فيه، فاصدار القانون على هذا الاساس لا يكون مخالفة للشريعة الاسلامية، انتهى

I heard him affirm on the pulpit of Masjid Nabawi that three divorces occur even when uttered together. He would recite the entire Quran whilst standing leaning on his stick. Allamah Abdul Hayy Laknawi (d. 1304/1886) writes in al-Fawaid al-Bahiyyah (p. 58) that he read the sixty Rasaail of Allamah Shurunbulali.
The Hanbali jurist and saint Abu Ishaq Ibrahim ibn Abdurrahman ibn Ahmed al-Balabakki (d.691) – who did not marry and would recite half the Quran daily – said shortly before his demise: “I am not aware that I have ever committed a major sin”. (Tarikh al-Islam, 15:723)

لما بلغ الشيخ صديق حسن خان نعي الشيخ عبد الحي اللكنوي وقد جرت بينهما مباحثات ومناظرات وألف كل منهما في الرد على صاحبه وضع يده على جبهته وأطرق رأسه ثم ، رفعه وعيناه تدمعان وهو يدعو ويسترحم وقال: اليوم غربت شمس العلم، اختلافنا كان مقصورا على تحقيق بعض المسائل، وأعلن الصلاة على الغائب، كذا في نزهة الخواطر

شمس الأئمة لقب جماعة وعند الإطلاق يراد به شمس الأئمة السرخسي، كذا في الجواهر المضية (٢/٣٧٥)۔

حضرت معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے متعلق حضرت مولانا رشید احمد گنگوہی فرماتے ہیں: اصحاب رسول اللہ ﷺ اعلی درجہ اور اول درجہ کے اولیاء ہیں، ادنی سے ادنی صحابی کے برابر اعلی سے اعلی ولی کا (درجہ) نہیں ہوسکتا۔ شیخ عبد القادر جیلانی فرماتے ہیں کہ حضرت معاویہ کا (درجہ بعض) لوگوں کے نزدیک ادنی ہیں اور طرح طرح کے ان پر حرف لگاتے ہیں۔ (حضرت معاویہ) اس درجہ کے ہیں کہ انکے گھوڑے کے سُم کی خاک میری آنکھ میں اگر پڑ جائے تو میری نجات وسعادت ہے۔تذکرۃ الرشید ج۱ ص ۱۹۲
Shaykh Muhammad Awwamah, a leading contemporary Hanafi Hadith scholar describing the Hanbali Hadith scholar Hafiz Ibn Abdul Hadi:
يقول الشيخ محمد عوامة في دراسة حديثية مقارنة لنصب الراية وفتح القدير ومنية الألمعي: وابن عبد الهادي أحد أئمة هذا الشأن علما واطلاعا ونقدا وتمحيصا على قصر عمره رحمه الله تعالى. ومما يدل على علو كعبه في هذا العلم أن الحافظ الزيلعي وابن عبد الهادي صنوان في التلمذة على شيوخ ذلك العصر، ومع هذا ترى الزيلعي يملأ كتابه من النقول النادرة الغالية عن ابن عبد الهادي رحمهما الله تعالى. ومما يذكر أن جميع نقول الزيلعي عن ابن عبد الهادي مصدرها التنقيح، إلا في موضعين من نصب الراية، أولهما ما لخصه من جزء الجهر بالبسملة، وثانيهما نقل عنه وصرح باسمه لكنه لم يسم المصدر الذي نقل عنه. وقد ظل الحافظ الزيلعي يستفيد من هذين الكتابين بيان الوهم والإيهام والتنقيح إلى آخر كتابه۔
ويقول الشيخ محمد عوامة: لولا نصوص ابن القطان وابن دقيق العيد وابن عبد الهادي في نصب الراية، لفقد الكتاب نصف أهميته وقيمته العلمية۔
قد يحكم العلامة الزركشي ببطلان الحديث تبعا للحافظ تيمية، لكن يبهم اسمه، كما في الحديث: كنت كنزا لا أعرف، وكما في الحديث: كنت نبيا وآدم بين الماء والطين، كذا في العقد الثمين في حب النبي الأمين صلى الله عليه وسلم۔
قال الحافظ ابن القيم في إعلام الموقعين (٢/٢٧٨): فأما نقل قوله فظاهر، وهو الأحاديث المدنية التي هي أم الأحاديث النبوية، وهي أشرف أحاديث أهل الأمصار، ومن تأمل أبواب البخاري وجده أول ما يبدأ في الباب بها ما وجدها، ثم يتبعها بأحاديث أهل الأمصار، وهذه كمالك عن نافع عن أبيه عمر، وابن شهاب عن سعيد بن المسيب عن أبي هريرة، ومالك عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه عن عائشة وأبي الزناد عن الأعرج عن أبي هريرة، وأبي شهاب عن سالم عن أبيه، وابن شهاب عن حميد بن عبد الرحمن عن أبي هريرة، ويحيى بن سعيد عن أبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة، وابن شهاب عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عتبة عن ابن عباس، ومالك عن موسى بن عقبة عن كريب عن أسامة بن زيد، والزهري عن عطاء بن يزيد الليثي عن أبي أيوب، وأمثال ذلك
أفاد الصفدي في أول تاريخه في كيفية كتابة الترجمة فقال: يُبدأ في التراجم باللقب، ثم بالكنية، ثم بالاسم، ثم بالنسبة إلى البلد، ثم إلى الأصل، ثم إلى المذهب في الفروع، ثم الاعتقاد، ثم إلى العلم، والصناعة، والخلافة، والوزارة، والقضاء
سئلت: يقول بعض الناس: إن أصحاب الكتب الستة كانوا كلهم من العرب، وأخطأ من زعم أنهم كانوا من العجم. فقلت: الذي سمعنا من مشايخنا وقرأنا في كتب التراجم أن أصحاب الكتب الستة أعاجم إلا الإمام مسلم فاختلف فيه، فجزم الحافظ ابن الصلاح ثم الإمام النووي أنه عربي الأصل، ومال الحافظ الذهبي إلى أنه أعجمي، لأنه قال: لعله من موالي قشير. ومال شيخنا محمد يونس الجونفوري إلى أنه أعجمي أيضا بقرينة ورود اسم “كوشاذ” في نسبه، وهو اسم فارسي، والله سبحانه أعلم (يوسف شبير)۔

“A solar eclipse occurred in the blessed city of Madinah on Mon 29 Shawwal, 10 Hijri (27 Jan 632 CE) at 8.30am. The Prophet ﷺ hurried to the Masjid and led the companions in Salah. The Prophet ﷺ said: “O people, indeed the sun and the moon are two signs from the signs of Allah, so when either of them eclipses, rush to the Masjids.” (Ibn Abi Shaybah, Ahmad, Ibn Hibban). قال الحافظ ابن القيم في بدائع الفوائد (٤/٢٠٩): في النوم فائدتان، إحداهما انعكاس الحرارة إلى البطن فينهضم الطعام، الثانية استراحة الأعضاء التي قد كلت بالأعمال
قيل للربيع بن خثيم: ما نراك تعيب أحدا؟ فقال: لست عن نفسي براض فأتفرغ من عيبها إلى عيب غيرها
عن علي بن أبي طالب أنه قال: إن الفقيه كل الفقيه من لم يؤيس الناس من رحمة الله، ولم يدحضهم في معاصي الله عز وجل سبحانه وتعالى، كذا في أصول السنة لابن أبي زمنين
الرؤيا تسر المؤمن ولا تغره. قال المروذي: أدخلت إبراهيم الحصري على أبي عبد الله فقال: إن أمي رأت لك مناما وهو كذا وكذا وذكرت الجنة، فقال: يا أخي، إن سهل بن سلامة كان الناس يخبرونه بمثل هذا وخرج إلى سفك الدماء. الرؤيا تسر المؤمن ولا تغره، كذا في السير (١١/٢٢٧)۔
قال الإمام السرخسي في شرح السير الكبير: إن ما يفعله الذين يدعون الوجد والمحبة مكروه ولا أصل له في الدين. ويستبين به أنه تمنع الصوفية مما يعتادونه من رفع الصوت وتخريق الثياب عند السماع، فإن ذلك مكروه في الدين عند سماع القرآن والوعظ، فما ظنك عند سماع الغناء، وراجع رد المحتار ٦:٣٤٩۔
قال الحافظ شمس الدين الذهبي في الميزان: و الله لان يعيش المسلم جاهلا خلف البقر لا يعرف من العلم شيئا سوى سور من القرآن يصلى بها الصلوات ويؤمن بالله وباليوم الآخر خير له بكثير من هذا العرفان وهذه الحقائق، ولو قرأ مائة كتاب أو عمل مائة خلوة
قال الحافظ ابن القيم في مدارج السالكين (٢/١٢): سمعت شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية قدس الله روحه يقول: الزهد ترك ما لا ينفع في الآخرة، والورع ترك ما تخاف ضرره في الآخرة. وهذه العبارة من أحسن ما قيل في الزهد والورع وأجمعها
قال سلطان العارفين أبو يزيد البسطامي: إذا نظرتم إلى الرجل أعطي من الكرامات حتى يرتفع في الهواء، فلا تغتروا به حتى تنظروا كيف تجدونه عند الأمر والنهي وحفظ الحدود وأداء الشريعة
قال الفقيه أبو الليث السمرقندي في تنبيه الغافلين: الغيبة على أربعة أوجه : في وجه هي كفر بأن قيل له لا تغتب فيقول : ليس هذا غيبة ، لأني صادق فيه فقد استحل ما حرم بالأدلة القطعية ، وهو كفر ، وفي وجه : هي نفاق بأن يغتاب من لا يسميه عند من يعرفه ، فهو مغتاب ، ويرى من نفسه أنه متورع ، فهذا هو النفاق ، وفي وجه : هي معصية وهو أن يغتاب معينا ويعلم أنها معصية فعليه التوبة ، وفي وجه : هي مباح وهو أن يغتاب معلنا بفسقه أو صاحب بدعة وإن اغتاب الفاسق ليحذره الناس يثاب عليه لأنه من النهي عن المنكر، انتهى۔

قال ابن القيم في الجواب الكافي (ص ٩): ولو أحسن العبد التداوي بالفاتحة لرأى لها تأثيرا عجيبا في الشفاء، ومكثت بمكة مدة يعتريني أدواء ولا أجد طبيبا ولا دواء، فكنت أعالج نفسي بالفاتحة، فأرى لها تأثيرا عجيبا، فكنت أصف ذلك لمن يشتكي ألما وكان كثير منهم يبرأ سريعا
شیخ الاسلام حضرت مفتی محمد تقی عثمانی ارشاد فرماتے ہیں: ’’الله تعالی نے موسی اور ھارون علیھما السلام کو فرعون کے پاس بھیجا تو یہ ھدایت فرمائی کہ اس سے نرمی سے بات کرنا- اب ھم ان پیغمبروں سے بڑے مصلح نھیں ھو سکتے اور ھمارا مخاطب فرعون سے زیادہ گمراہ نھیں ھو سکتا، پھر ھم سخت لب و لھجہ کیوں اپنائیں’’۔
شیخ الاسلام حضرت مفتی محمد تقی عثمانی ارشاد فرماتے ہیں: ’’ميں دعاء پڑھتا نہيں، مانگتا ہوں۔ دعاء پڑھنی اور چيز ہوتی ہے اور مانگنی اور چيز ہے۔ دوران سفر دعاء مانگنا ميرا معمول ہے’’۔
قال الإمام الحافظ ابن العربي في سراج المريدين (٤/٤٤٩): وقد عهدنا إليكم ألا تشتغلوا من الذكر والدعاء إلا بما في الموطأ والبخاري ومسلم، فهو اللباب، وبه يستفتح الباب ويستمنح اللباب، فإن تجاوزتم ذلك فأبوداود والترمذي والنسائي، ولا زيادة لمن أراد لزوم الإرادة والقيام بحق العبادة
Health and Food
“Hajjaj ibn Yusuf asked a famous doctor of his era Shabib ibn Zaid to share with him some good medical advice. He mentioned the following: (1) Only eat meat of a young animal. (2) Sleep for a short while after lunch. (3) Walk after dinner for a short while even if you have to tread through thorns. (4) Do not eat until you have digested what you have already consumed even if it takes you three days to digest. (5) Do not sleep until you visit the toilet. (6) Eat fruits when the season begins. (7) When the season is finishing, stop eating the fruits. (8) Drink two glasses of water as you wake up in the morning. (9) Drinking water after eating food is worse than drinking poison. It is better not to eat.”

“Yesterday, I asked Sayyid Mawlana Arshad Madani, the son of Shaykhul Islam Mawlana Husayn Ahmed Madni whether he is aware of his grandfather Sayyid Habibullah’s grave in Edirne, Turkey. Sayyid Habibullah was arrested in the blessed city of Madinah and sent to Edirne. Mawlana Arshad Sahib replied that he visited Edirne many years ago and searched for the grave but could not locate it. This, he suggested, was maybe because he passed away in an epidemic and was not afforded the standard burial. I then mentioned to him that we visited the Ottoman Military Cemetery in Malta where Hakim Nusret Husayn is buried and his grave is known. Mawlana was very pleased to hear this and I promised to send him the attached pictures. Hakim Nusret Husayn was a member of Shaykh al-Hind’s group who were incarcerated in Malta and he passed away whilst in prison on on 9 Dhu al-Qadah 1336 (16 August 1918) and Shaykh al-Hind led his Janazah Salah. ولمّا هلك أمير ظالم لأهل السُّنة قال ابن كثير في البداية والنهاية: أراح الله المسلمين منه في هذه السنة في ذي الحجة منها،ودفن بداره،ثم نُقل إلى مقابر قريش فلله الحمد والمنة. وحين مات فرح أهل السنة بموته فرحاً شديداً،وأظهروا الشكر لله،فلا تجد أحداً منهم إلا يحمد الله، انتهى. وعَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ بْنِ رِبْعِيٍّ رضي الله عنه أنَّ رسولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قال عن مَوتِ الفاجِرِ مِن الناسِ: يَسْتَرِيحُ مِنْهُ الْعِبَادُ وَالْبِلَادُ،وَالشَّجَرُ وَالدَّوَابُّ، رواه البخاري ومسلم. وكان العُلماء إذا بلَغهم هلاكُ فاجرٍ ظالِمٍ سُرُّوا وقالوا: الحمد لله الذي أَراحَ المسلمين مِنه، انظر لسان الميزان (٨/٤٠٢)۔
