Claiming Gift Aid on interest donations

Is it permissible for charities in the UK to claim Gift Aid on interest money donated by donors?

It is permissible for charities in the UK to claim Gift Aid on all categories of donations including interest donations, in accordance with the Gift Aid regulations.
