Premium Bonds

Are Premium Bonds permissible?

Answer
Premium bonds are not permissible. They are interest based and interest is prohibited and they also have an element of gambling therein which is also prohibited.
قال الله تعالى: أحل الله البيع وحرم الربا، الآية. وقال تعالى: يا أيها الذين آمنوا إنما الخمر والميسر والأنصاب والأزلام رجس من عمل الشيطان فاجتنبوه لعلكم تفلحون۔
