Keeping Pets Hair as Memory
Question
Is it permissible to keep the hairs of a pet rabbit that were shed during its lifetime and to collate them together to be kept as a memory?

Answer
The hairs and remains of pets are to be buried or disposed of, not kept as a memory.
عن ابن عمر رفعه: ادفنوا الأظفار والشعر والدم فإنها ميتة، رواه ابن عدي (٥/٣٣٥) ومن طريقه البيهقي (٧٦)، وهو معلول بعبد الله بن عبد العزيز بن أبي رواد، وراجع تخريج الهداية للزيلعي (١/١٢٢)۔
