There are many errors & omissions in the prevalent version of Hafiz Sakhawi’s al-Maqasid al-Hasanah. An example is the detailed entry on تحية البيت الطواف which is totally missing. The 5 vol critical edition of Dar al-Maymanah features this as does the Faydullah (547) manuscript.

“The Hanafi jurist Imam Khassaf (d.261) transmits 500+ Ahadith & Athar in his masterpiece ‘Adab al-Qadhi’ with complete Asanid. Interestingly, many of the narrations are transmitted via Imam Ibn Abi Shaybah, which are also found in ‘al-Musannaf’. The book is also useful because ‘Adab al-Qadhi’ of ‘al-Asl’ remains unpublished & is mafqud.  Along with Adab al-Qadhi, the book covers issues of other chapters such as Nikah, Shufah, Shahadat, Hajr, Hadanat, Nafaqah, Wasiyyah, Dawa, Mafqud & others. An invaluable book.”

“Tawthiq al-Duyun is another masterpiece in Arabic by Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani Sahib on contemporary financial issues which follows on from his Fiqh al-Buyu.

To listen to Shaykh Yunus Sahib’s praise of Awjaz al-Masalik, listen to this 15 minute clip (introduction to Muwatta Muhammad) on the following link: islamicportal.co.uk/shaykh-muhamma Worth listening to the full audio clip. Short and concise introduction to Muwatta & its commentaries.

“Mashallah, Al-Ghayah, commentary of Hidayah, by Qadi Saroojee published. Scholars including Allamah Qurashi and Hafiz Zaylaee quote this book in their Takhrij works on the Hadiths of Hidayah. They generally refer to him by his Kunyah ابو العباس. An invaluable addition.” (1 June 2021)

Along with the Muwatta, Kitab al-Athar of Imam Muhammad should be taught in Madaris.” (5 June 2021)

“Talimul Islam in 4 parts is not only for beginners. It is beneficial for everyone.” (Mufti Ikramul Haq Sahib)

“Just received this beautiful new 20 volume edition of Allamah Qastallani’s commentary on Sahih al-Bukhari. Allah reward the publisher and the team of researchers who selected 6 manuscripts from nearly 100 manuscripts and worked on this for many years.  An invaluable addition.”  (28 May 2021)

“Imam Bukhari authored a stand-alone book “al-Adab”, which is commonly now known as “al-Adab al-Mufrad”. Its actual name is just “al-Adab”. The term “al-Mufrad” was probably added to distinguish it from the “Kitab al-Adab” of Sahih al-Bukhari. This is why Hafiz Zaylee refers to it in Nasb al-Rayah in at least 15 places with the following: ‎رواه البخاري في كتابه المفرد في الادب Bukhari transmitted it in his standalone book on Adab.”

Shaykh Muhammad Awwamah, a leading contemporary Hanafi Hadith scholar describing the Hanbali Hadith scholar Hafiz Ibn Abdul Hadi:

“Yesterday, I asked Sayyid Mawlana Arshad Madani, the son of Shaykhul Islam Mawlana Husayn Ahmed Madni whether he is aware of his grandfather Sayyid Habibullah’s grave in Edirne, Turkey.  Sayyid Habibullah was arrested in the blessed city of Madinah and sent to Edirne. Mawlana Arshad Sahib replied that he visited Edirne many years ago and searched for the grave but could not locate it. This, he suggested, was maybe because he passed away in an epidemic and was not afforded the standard burial.
